There is a little principle that's become famous in recent years. It's called the 80/20 rule. In a nutshell it says that 80 percent of your results for anything you do, come from only 20 percent of your efforts. And the opposite is true, that 80 percent of what you do only yields about 20 percent of the results.

Now this isn't a scriptural principle, but it is one that is very easy to see is true from your every day life. Consider your job. What you really get paid for is that 20 percent of specialty knowledge, or that one or two tasks that you do that are extremely difficult or unpleasant. The rest of your time is really for the little stuff and putting out fires.

So when it comes to faith and believing the Lord for something, did you know the same rule applies? You see, many of us see faith in the Lord, as something that is monolithic, unmoving like a statue. It's either black or it's white. And while that is certainly one way to look at it. The truth is that most of us waver in our faith. Circumstances in life cause us to doubt. The insecurities of our situation rob our faith.

So when it comes to seeing what the 80/20 rule is for faith, here it is:

80 percent is dealing with doubt, questions, uncertainties and the lies of the enemy.

20 percent is actually trusting God without reservation.

You see Jesus said it best in Mark 11:23:

For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

Did you catch that? It said whoever believes and does not doubt. What exactly causes us to doubt could be an article it's own, but here are some common ones.

  1. What you are asking God for seems so impossible you don't think He can do it for you.
  2. You know He can do it, but you don't know if He wants to.
  3. You think you are unworthy to receive help.
  4. You think you have to handle things on your own.
  5. You are bitter towards God.

Do you see how any of these things block your faith? It's as if you had the biggest dam in the world full of water, waiting to be released, to create raw power. Power to transform the landscape. But it is stuck, because the pipes that flow out are jammed.

80 percent of believing God for anything, be it finances, healing, relationships, or whatever, is overcoming your doubts. How do you do that?

Well in essence, you choose to believe that God is telling you the truth. Faith is not going to come upon you like an armed bandit and take away your doubt. No, you must treat doubt like the invader.

2 Corinthians 10:5 says:

casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ

Your doubt, your fears are sin because they are saying to you, they are more powerful than God. When you believe them, you are committing idolatry. That is why the Word is so clear, that whatever you do that is not in faith is sin.

So how do you overcome doubt? Firstly see it as sin, and by an act of your will, choose to believe God. The feelings will come. But first the change takes place within you.

This takes the longest time in the process, and it can be difficult. Especially if you have had some bad experiences, or if you are in the middle of a crisis situation like losing your home. But when you come this place, you are like the house built upon the rock. There is nothing that can move you. And this is when your faith will begin to have effects in the earth.

Now, as you pray, and speak forth, things begin to happen. Before it was like you were trying to plug an appliance into a socket that was covered over. You were so frustrated and wondering what is happening. But now that it is removed, the power is there, and things start to come to life.

Well and truly did the Lord say that all you need is faith the size of a grain of a mustard seed. There is raw unmeasurable power in the Spirit of God. Power to fix every problem, to give you everything you need. You just need to connect to it by faith, hope, and love.

In closing, I want you to realize that the answer to ever need you have is in Jesus. God the Father has but one solution to every problem we have, and He is the Lord Jesus Christ. It is time to deal with the things that block you from Him. It's time to confess your sin, believe and speak to your mountain, and watch as it get's cast into the sea!

Progressive Faith - The Power to Make Things Happen

Have you ever played paintball? When you shoot and that paintball hits the target, this is what faith looks like. Faith is the action we take in order to reach our goal. Hope was your target and now you need faith to reach it.

We all know that faith is an action. However, we don't really know how to "take" that action. Apostle Colette will show you how to take that action, and what you need to do in order to "use" your faith and "shoot" it at your targets... read more
